Coachella 2017 brought an interesting new concept to the mix – dance music titan and former Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello‘s sophomore album “Almost Human” and its accompanying tour. As announced in a live Q&A earlier via Steve’s Facebook page, the new album takes heavy influence from gospel and is divided into three “acts”: Genesis, Inferno, and Paradise. The album includes recent additions to Steve’s live sets such as “Break Me Down” and “Feels Like Heaven” featuring Brandon Flowers from The Killers. The album is also rumored to include his infamous unreleased collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, “Sentido”.

Act 1 from the album, Genesis, featuring two singles, has just been released. The first track, which serves as the intro to the album, as well as Steve Angello’s live sets, is titled “Rejoice”. “Rejoice” perfectly fits inspirational preacher-style vocals in an orchestral choir backdrop, leading into a synth-based, driving electronica finish. The second track, “Breaking Kind”, follows a similar synth-based arrangement, while incorporating indie-pop vocals into the mix.

A perfect introduction to “Almost Human”, we can’t wait to hear the rest of what Steve Angello has in store. Check out both tracks below, out now on all digital music outlets, and let us know what you think!
