Bound to go down in history as a true pioneer of the dance music world, Eric Prydz has been around long enough to know the ins and out of the industry. Proving that he can attract both a mainstream and underground audience, this week marks 13 years since ‘Call On Me‘ occupied the number one position in the U.K. Charts.

Undoubtedly his biggest mainstream hit, whether intentional or not, the success of the track catapulted his career to new heights. Along with the infamous music video which many of us still have a vivid image of in our heads, the catchy vocal and infectious, uplifting melody helped convert many skeptical listeners into fans of dance music.

And although Prydz himself may neglect the track today by refusing to play it live, it could be argued that the Swede would not be as successful without it. If the success of a track was measured on the longevity of its effectiveness, ‘Call On Me’ is certainly a classic, as it still causes a stir on dancefloors to this day.
