A tough task for any new venue, Hï Ibiza was faced with the almost impossible job of replacing Space this summer, following the iconic club’s closure last Autumn. A true Ibiza powerhouse dating back many years, Carl Cox‘s former Tuesday night home had built up a huge fanbase over 27 years, but no sooner had Hï Ibiza’s doors opened, and a whole bank of fresh new memories were busy being made.

Stunning ravers with their classy interior design and state-of-the-art decor, Hï’s debut season has already created an instant impact on the White Isle, with BBC Radio 1 even choosing to host their annual party there this summer. We Rave You were lucky enough to attend the club, and check out the various nights in their diverse and dynamic schedule as part of our Ibiza in Focus feature, and this is how it went down…

MONDAY: Martin Garrix Presents MULTIPLY

One of the few artists to hold a double residency on the island, with his ‘Multiply‘ evening also taking over the neighbouring Ushuaïa, Martin Garrix is undeniably the hottest property on the EDM scene right now, surging to the summit of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll, and amassing a huge global fanbase. Mixing in old classics like ‘Animals’ as well as his more recent melodic sounds, Garrix’s Mondays kick the week off with a bang, drawing in huge crowds and making full use of the incredible pyrotechnics inside the venue, which is owned by the Ushuaïa Entertainment Group.

TUESDAY: Eric Prydz

Without a doubt, the most successful night in Hï’s residency vault so far has been that of Eric Prydz and his Tuesday night assaults on the senses. Fresh from his incredible EPIC 5.0 at London’s Steel Yard in May, the Swedish producer has taken things to another level in Ibiza, clad with his iconic laser beams and jaw-dropping visuals. Taking the art of the live show to another level, dance music fans have been scratching their heads all summer at how Hï have managed to incorporate such stunning effects inside the club. With Prydz mesmerizing his audience through spinning holographic images, and incredible tech-house build ups through his alias, Cirez D, his supporting cast has been as impressive as his performances with the likes of Cristoph and the mighty Deadmau5 joining Pryda at both Hï, and his official Café Mambo pre-party.

WEDNESDAY: Armin van Buuren + Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano

Midweek means saying ‘Hï’ to a true trance legend with Dutch giant Armin van Buuren taking over the new venue, and as you’d expect, this is a show build upon a foundation of incredible euphoric drops and hammering melodies and bass-lines. Utilising the thumping sound system inside the club, Armin takes his fans through a state of trance whilst also mixing in newer edits and highly polished mash-ups. Keeping with the Dutch theme of the night, Netherlands duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano join the ASOT powerhouse, playing their own mammoth residency in the club’s smaller room, throughout the summer.

THURSDAY: In The Dark

Taking things to a deeper, darker level on Thursdays, ‘In The Dark’ has proved a wildly popular evening for the attendees of Hï, and offers a shift away from the more mainstream sounds found earlier on in the week. Brooding atmospheric lighting dims the club, as techno heavyweights including Nic Fanciulli and Bas Ibellini take to the stage to deliver rumbling breakdowns to the gathered crowd. With the moody tone adopted throughout the evening, Hï shows diversity in acting as a premiere location for both the euphoric, and melancholic.

FRIDAY – Glitterbox

A night dedicated to pure house, Fridays see the ever popular Glitterbox return to the island, where the glitz and glam of the disco era are confidently plunged into the face of the house-hungry crowd. A real visual delight, with glistening disco balls hanging from ceilings, artists such as DEFECTED supremo Simon Dunmore, Horse Meat Disco, and Dimitri from Paris are all in attendance to lace the club with funky grooves to keep the club dancing all night long!

SATURDAY: Black Coffee

Kicking off the weekend in style, few DJs or producers have enjoyed such a meteoric surge in popularity over recent years as Black Coffee. The South African, whose Hï residency has been met with huge critical acclaim and proved one of the island’s most popular evenings, has been lacing the club with his dark house beats all summer. With his iconic trackWe Dance Again‘ proving the jewel in his crown, the future is looking increasingly bright for Black Coffee, with Hï offering the perfect home for him thanks to the incredible speakers of the main stage, and inspiring visual effects.

SUNDAY – Hï Sundays!

Rounding off the week with a supreme blend of heavyweight names from the industry, Hï Sundays focus on huge names in the main-room with slightly more underground artists featuring in The Theatre. 2017 has seen the likes of Steve Angello, Don Diablo, Hardwell and Oliver Heldens play at the venue, whilst the Mambo Brothers have headlined a Sunday residency at the club. A huge night of special effects, the class of Hï is encapsulated perfectly through the premiere line-ups and packed crowds of Sundays.

Hï Ibiza

A breath of fresh air on the island, Hï visionary and Ushuaïa CEO Yann Pissenem has once more seen one of his artistic creations come to life at Hï Ibiza, with the venue offering a much more premium feel than any other club before it. Maintaining the magic essence of Space, whilst transforming the venue into a modern and spacious club which appeals to all types of dance fan, Hï is only just starting out and will move from strength to strength as the seasons pass by. 2018 will act as a huge follow up year, and with Hï equipped to dominate the Ibiza clubbing scene for decades, the introduction of this breath-taking venue has injected new life into the island for decades to come!
