Its only been a week since Sick Individual and Axwell’s 2013 hit ‘I AM’ turned 4 years old and made us ponder over the importance of such releases from the glorious years of 2012-2014 for Electro House and House in general. While these tracks will have their anniversaries every now and then, Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash‘s 2012 original hit ‘Reload’ will undoubtedly remain the track that some of us, Pete Tong included, will recall as a dance music essential. Possibly the melody that introduced some of the present day listeners to the world of dance music, it assuredly needs a revisit in light of the original mix completing 5 years since its release on Ingrosso’s Refune Music imprint.

The punching and progressive sound along with the constant state of anticipation that ‘Reload’ offers to a listener are aspects that stand out as its production features. A sharp melody, which has turned iconic over time, from the original and the John Martin vocal mix which followed a year later have offered the seamless mixture of Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash’s production styles. Chalking up ample of certifications in UK and Sweden, ‘Reload’ was not only ruling the charts in its heydays but also made its stage presence felt all over the world, featuring in most major sets and artist mixes. What we observed for ‘I AM’ will be all the more true in the case of ‘Reload’ – the Ingrosso and Tommy Trash collaboration is head and shoulders above the releases of its time.

The track is available for a quick purchase from Beatport here.
