After a modest start to 2017, Skrillex has come out guns blazing. Skrillex, who is best known for his electric Dubetsp productions, is just as well known for his ability to produce a diverse range of other styles. This year, however, Sonny has focused on touring more than releases. His set at Burning Man back in August was definitely one to remember.
The OWSLA founder played a number of classics such as ‘Make It Bun Dem‘ with Damian Marley, his remix of Avicii’s ‘Levels‘ and ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites‘; much to the delight of the crowd. Sonny also played his more recent bangers, including, ‘Chicken Soup‘ with Habstrakt and a new ID with JOYRIDE. Despite the incredible tracklist, it was the incredible visual display that proved to be the cream on the cake, filled with incredible strobe lights and pyrotechnics.
Skrillex’s second half of 2017 has been nothing short of amazing. He delved into the world of House with his infectious, upbeat track ‘Would You Ever‘ with Poo Bear. He also working on a collaboration with Rihanna and Blackbear. However, the madness doesn’t stop there. His recent remix of Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Humble‘ has gone viral, amassing over 2.2M views on YouTube in just 3 short days.
