One of the most popular trance acts of all time, UK-based trio Above & Beyond have just revealed another single of their forthcoming album ‘Common Ground’. The single, which is called “Northern Soul” will be the third release of the trance trio’s new album, following “Tightrope” featuring Marty Longstaff and “My Own Hymn” featuring Zoë Johnston, that were previously released this summer. The brand new single is set for release on November 3rd and and the track means the reunion with a very familiar vocalist for the extremely successful trance act: Richard Bedford.
The announcement of the new single “Northern Soul” follows shortly after Above & Beyond have dropped the news of their huge 25-city Noth American tour in support of the ‘Common Ground’ album. The tour will start on December 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, running all the way into Spring 2018. The first tour dates were already revealed when the trio hosted the 250th edition of their Above & Beyond Group Therapy radio show, at the Gorgi Ampitheatre in Washington State (USA) mid September. During the sold out milestone show, “Nothern Soul” premiered as an ID in their set.
At first listen, trance fans will immediately recognize the sound of a beloved Above & Beyond vocalist, as none other than Richard Bedford who takes care of the vocals on “Northern Soul”. The British singer/songwriter has collaborated on many tracks of the trio before and was named best EDM vocalist in 2013. After the previous success of tracks like “Alone Tonight”, “Thing Called Love” and “Sun & Moon”, it’s Bedford’s characteristic voice that brightens up yet another emotional trance anthem on Above & Beyond’s long and ongoing discography.
