While you might not immediately recognize their names, one thing’s for certain, if the trio responsible for HIVE keep doing what they do you won’t soon be forgetting their names. Serbian DJ/Producer Erick Kasell‘s previous collaboration with MAD2MAD and Dirtywork titled Hypnotize received support from some of the world’s top DJ’s, including Joachim Garraud, Omnia, Dannic and Hardwell, and having received a release through the mighty Armada Trice, there’s no doubt it’s well worth a listen. While the acid-driven, big room banger clearly displays all the elements that rip up a dance floor and get people moving, it certainly bears resemblance to the hard-hitting sounds that blew up ‘progressive house’ in its 2015 incarnation.
Now bringing up & coming DJ/Producer Diamond Mark along for the ride, Erick Kasell and MAD2MAD produce yet another big room gem called ‘Hive’. Much like ‘Hypnotize’ the track is filled with a larger than life bass drum, acid-driven bass lines and evolving rhythms which eventually keep dropping heavier and harder.
While the track delivers earth-shaking elements that will surely move most dance floors around the world, it contains a breakdown that creates a perfect dynamic range, switching up the rhythm and dropping hints of yesteryear with stabs that seem quite at home in the 1970’s. Add a familiar vocal enticing the crowd with chants of “right here, right now” and you’re pretty much guaranteed you’ll see a few thousand fists in the air.
