NGHTMRE has teamed up with male vocalist Bret James and fellow producer RNSOM for a new trap and bass single called ‘The Killer.’ The new track is released on Diplo’s Mad Decent label and is available now.
The track has a spooky vibe and ominous subject, with James pleading he is ‘not the killer.’ The track builds to a distorted, frenetic pace halfway through, which chopped drill sounds borrowed from vaporwave. The track’s release is perfectly timed for Halloween weekend.
‘The Killer’ has an interesting backstory, with James and RNSOM being former roommates of NGHTMRE’s and now RNSOM himself is on the Mad Decent roster as well. This made the collaboration between the trio a natural fit.
NGHTMRE will certainly be adding ‘The Killer’ to his setlist at his appearances at several Halloween-themed festivals, including Voodoo in New Orleans and Something Wicked in Texas. He will continue to be on the road thereafter for his cleverly entitled NGHTMRE Before Xmas Tour, which will see him travelling throughout the United States until the holidays.
