Timeless, epic, and now receiving the “Marcus Schössow” treatment, “Tell Me Why” the legendary Supermode track is ready to rock the charts once again. In almost a perennial fashion, this house classic has seen many remixes and edits since its inception 11 years ago. Now in 2017, fans will be able to hear this iconic track debuted in a new light from none other than Code Red Music’s label boss, Marcus Schössow.

To truly understand the depth of this song, we have to go back in time for a little dance music history. Released in the summer of 2006 on Data Records, “Tell Me Why” was instrumental in the breakthrough of the mainstream house scene. Supermode (originally called Supermongo) was the brainchild of founders Axwell and Steve Angello and served as a side project collaboration between the two Swedish DJs.

However, the history of this landmark record dates back even further. The original samples were taken from the British synth-pop group Bronski Beat and reworked. The singles “Why” and “Smalltown Boy” which are from the 1984 album “The Age of Consent” were merged and blended together by the Swedish DJs and the end result was a track of breathtaking proportions.

Characterized by the infectious melody and the pulsing baseline, the production talent that Axwell and Steve Angello brought to table is being revived by fellow Swede Marcus Schössow. While still retaining the atmosphere from the original, the Swedish producer equips the record with soaring synths, a newly outfitted vocal, and huge strings. As we would expect, the progressive house maestro pays homage to one of house music’s most notable songs.

Code Red Music has been making all sorts of waves in the past year with big releases from the likes of Corey James, David Pietras, and naturally, Marcus himself. Known for being a pioneer in new styles and garnering new talent, the critically acclaimed label is gearing up for its biggest release of 2017.
