The upcoming Christmas season is always a very special time of the year for Armin van Buuren. The Dutch superstar DJ/producer celebrates his own birthday on Christmas day and this year the Holidays Season might be just a little bit more special than usual for him. Van Buuren, who turns 41 this Christmas, has just announced that for the very first time in his career, he produced a Christmas single: a remake of his current hit “Sunny Days” ft. Josh Cumbee.

Armin van Buuren dropped the news about “Christmas Days” on popular Dutch radio station Radio 538 this morning. He stressed that the track, which is definitely worth a listen (below the article), is no joke and that it was carefully discussed with the management of Josh Cumbee as well. Armin van Buuren further explained in the Radio 538 interview:

“The idea arose a few weeks ago, but I had my doubts at first still. When I had a closer listen to the lyrics of “Sunny Days”, it began to dawn on me that it actually had a lot of common ground with the Christmas season. I contacted Josh’s management and they loved the idea. One day later, I received the first version of “Christmas Days” and i was really blown away by it. I immediately sent it to my label, Armada Music, and they decided to go for it!”

Van Buuren went on to say that it took a bit longer to finetune the exact lyrics and that of course, the track needs a couple of Christmas bells before it’s completely finalized. Jokingly he added: “I’ve always been slightly jealous of Mariah Carey and George Michael, but from now on, maybe “Christmas Days will be added to this honorable list of all time favorite Christmas tunes!”

Check out the premiere of Armin van Buuren and Josh Cumbee’s “Christmas Days” and get in the mood for the holiday season right now!
