Boom, it’s time to get funky. SIZE Records pulls through again with a release that comes from two producers with un-compromised chemistry in the studio. In May of 2016 Steve Angello played a rather auspicious track on BBC Radio 1 that couldn’t leave fans heads. The record in question was UK producer Corey James and Israeli producer duo Teamworx’ seismic collaboration titled “Funky Music“. The track is the younger brother of “Make The Crowd Go” released on Protocol Recordings in March of 2016.

The producers Corey James and Teamworx (Ben Azoulay and Saar Lagziel) are masters of their craft and both respectively coming off the most successful year of their careers. In an in-depth interview provided by 1001tracklists.com both artists explain the history of “Funky Music”, explaining how their approach for this release was based around “maximum hype”. In August of 2016 they knew the track was going to be released on SIZE records but through delaying the release and giving more time for live feedback and fine tweaking, the end product had an extra 10/20% more to offer.

Both artists express strong admiration for Steve Angello and SIZE Records. They describe how Steve maintained the final say on the release of the track, meticulously advising and offering support whenever necessary. The collaboration is top notch, the type of quality only found in the rare elite of progressive house.Corey James states “The Teamworx guys are super talented so it’s great to work with them”.

The Israeli duo are also coming off a hot streak of releases. By now, we all know “Champion Sound” as the jaw-dropping monster that dazed fans during live shows, and “Atom” as the tribute track that sat on top of the big room charts for months. Corey James has his own weapons as well, “Bird Flu” with Tom Staar fires up lovers of groove/latin house and prog house alike. The producer also has a previous release on SIZE as well, the dreamy “With You” featuring Santez.

“Funky Music” is a finely tuned record bred to get dance-floors moving. The sparkly chords, catchy vocals, and riveting bass line will certainly get listeners grooving, no matter where they are. A unique facet of the duos sound together, the floor shaking bass line is arguably one of the highlights of the whole track.

Just as Corey James and Teamworx deliver big again, we can only hope there will be more in the future.

Out now on SIZE records!
