Dr. Shiver – Something (Live)

As one of Italy’s fastest growing dance music producers, Dr. Shiver is quickly cementing his place within the global scene. Following on from the success of his single Brave Love, the Italian producer’s latest serving acts as a showcase of his production prowess with the incredible ‘Something (Live)’ utilising sounds we have not heard before from Dr. Shiver.

Released via Nicky Romero’s imprint Protocol Recordings, the original version of Something picked up support from industry heavyweights Martin Garrix, Fedde Le Grand, Armin Van Buuren and W&W, with the live version, and accompanying video, proving to be one of Dr Shiver’s proudest achievements, adding:

“This unplugged version of Something is One of the craziest thing I have ever done in my life. I locked my self inside the studio 24 hours non stop with 12 sick Italian legends musicians like Luca Marchesin (guitar), Orlando Barbuto (guitar), Francesco Vecchia (bass), Enrico Allavena (trombon), Piero Vallero (tenor sax), Sarà Kari (sax alto), Giotto (trumpet), Gianluca Aria (sax bariton), Ivan Appella (Rhode), Giulietta Testa (violin) & Sergio Meola (drums).

None of this outstanding musicians ever played with each other before. Thanks to the next level Art&Music Studios team and facility, we wired everything and started to do some rehearsal with the band and the Kazi. Writing, arranging, directing and playing my hammond with these guys was a huge honor to me. The session went outstanding. Everybody was deadly tired after all that time passed inside the studio but none of them gave up till the recording was completed. Not least was the support offered by my team which managed the entire day extremely professional and made possibile also realizing an incredibile video of the whole process. After sleeping few hours I have finalized mix and master and the final results is something which makes me even more happy than the original track.”

Shining a light on the Italian artist’s impeccable talents as a producer, songwriter, arranger and director, this track offers innovation and familiarity in equal measure.
