Aside from the usual scare and amuse about it going bankrupt, online music streaming platform Soundcloud has had a great year from the perspective of artists and profile holders. While the company’s setup will look to solve their problems apart from the stop-gap measures in position, the online music streaming giant has released its yearly playback which showcases the best performers on the platform for the year.

Kicking off the list in some style, the top album was Lil Uzi Vert‘s ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ – marking the height of success for the Philadelphia based rapper. The title for the Top Remixer went to R3HAB. With no surprise as such, the most remixed track was Ed Sheeran‘s hit ‘Shape of You‘. The Top DJ Set title was landed by the Two Friends duo with their ‘Big Bootie Mix, Vol. 11’. New York and then Cairo were among the cities which led the creative hive-mind on the platform.

Unlike Pluto bagged the year’s Top EDM track with ‘Everything Black‘ featuring Mike Taylor. Aside from these tags, Soundcloud has also showcased that mostly Hip-Hop and R&B artists – Marshmello being the odd one out – have dominated the platform with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Khalid, Kehlani, Post Malone, Lil Pump and Trippie Redd making it big in 2017 and riding their fame wave out of the platform to the charts and kicking off their career. For 2018, Soundcloud has touted the likes of Mabel, Lil Wop and Melo Makes Music among a myriad others to make it big.
