Along with the new year, comes a new festival season. Tomorrowland, arguably the world’s biggest dance festival, has revealed a teaser video in anticipation for this year’s Belgium edition. Last year’s gathering donned the ‘Amicorium Spectaculum‘ theme, which roughly translates to “spectacular friends” or “gathering of friends”.
This year, however, is different and somewhat cryptic. This year’s theme is ‘The Story of Planaxis”. A Planaxis is a genus of small sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Planaxidae. In spite of not revealing a clear-cut theme, Tomorrowland 2018 won’t be based on sea snails. More so, it is possible that this year’s edition could boast a water/ocean theme. Additionally, a giant cone shell stage could be on the cards. While all the aforementioned details are simply speculation, rumours have been fuelled by this image, which can be found on Tomorrowland’s website.
Last year’s edition boasted a whopping 69 stage hosts, along with more than 1,000 artists, including artists such as Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Eric Prydz and Tiësto, just to name a few. The festival will once again be split up into two weekends, taking place on 20-22 July and 27-29 July.Ticket pre-registration commences on January 9. Additional ticket details can be found here.
