Dance music fans all over the world are currently counting down the days until the showpiece event of the 2018 calendar; the 20th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Though Ultra’s ‘Expect the Unexpected’ tagline has led to several rumours over surprise appearances at the Bayfront Park venue, one DJ who has confirmed that he will NOT be in attendance is Alesso.

Shortly after telling a fan on Twitter that he will not be attending the iconic festival, the Swedish producer quickly deleted the tweet again, though his current tour calendar states that the Calling maestro is already booked to play in Mexico on the same weekend.

Alesso is not the first DJ to have ruled himself out of the running for Ultra 2018, with Don Diablo refusing to play at the event after a row with organisers in 2017, and Martin Garrix also confirming he won’t play the Florida festival. The likes of Oliver Heldens and Above & Beyond have also stated that they won’t appear during Twitter conversations with fans, but with the Phase Two line-up announcement expected to drop any day now, many are speculating over a potential Swedish House Mafia reunion, the return of Avicii, or perhaps even a Daft Punk live set.

What do YOU think Ultra has in store for their ‘expect the unexpected’ 20th anniversary? Let us know in the comments below!
