Kygo hints at collaborating with Martin Garrix

Tropical house may meet dance-pop if Kygo gets his wish to collaborate with wunderkind Martin Garrix. In a recent interview with RTL Entertainment, the Norwegian mega-producer selected Garrix as the artist he would most like to work with.

Kygo said during the interview:

‘I’ve been talking to Martin Garrix about making a song together for my new album…hopefully we can make that happen!’

As a keen reader will notice, he is also working on a follow up to his wildly successful collection Kids in Love. Garrix himself is no stranger to success, winning the coveted yet controversial DJ Mag Top 100 DJs title two years in a row, proving that he is no flash in the pan.

In the same interview, he cited his friendship with Garrix as a motivating factor in his decision to embrace the Dutch artist as a collaborator. Although they come from different genres, the world of electronic dance music embraces fusion in sound.

In addition, Kygo also named The Weeknd as a desired collaborator, perhaps because his remix of The Weeknd’s single ‘Often‘ helped put his name on the map. He also aimed toward pop by mentioning Ed Sheeran, the superstar British singer-songwriter du jour.
