One of the most highly anticipated collabs of 2018 so far is finally happening today, as Armin van Buuren and Shapov have just released ‘The Last Dancer’. The track created quite a buzz already last month, when the Dutch Trance legend played it during the celebrations of ASOT #850 in De Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Music fans all across the globe immediately recognized Shapov’s trademark sound in one of Armin van Buuren’s ID’s, and soon they realized that the melody was indeed Shapov’s. The talented Russian played the amazing break of the track as an into to his Tomorrowland set last year, and he has been playing it several times since.

‘The Last Dancer’ is quite the collab, as it is the first result of a team-up between Armin van Buuren, who is never afraid of exploring new sounds and genres, and Axtone‘s Shapov, whose star has been rising rapidly in the Progressive and Electro House genres. ‘The Last Dancer’ blends together both their styles flawlessly, turning it into a ‘Proglifting’ Trance anthem that picks up speed again after the break, before it reaches its electrifying drop.

Interesting enough, the track is being released today without any real advertising campaign. Shapov played ‘The Last Dancer’ again just last night in his set at the Axtone Pool Party in Miami, where he also announced today March 22nd as the official release date for the track. Surely, ‘The Last Dancer’ is guaranteed to be played at festivals all around the world this Spring and Summer, as it’s got all the ingredients it needs: it’s energetic, it sticks in your head and it makes you want to dance… and it won’t be your last dance for sure!
