Tough to believe, but today marks 12 years since one of the most iconic dance releases of the modern generation was released. Bob Sinclar‘s 2006 track ‘World Hold On‘ was a massive anthem of the heatwave that spread across Europe that summer, with FIFA even using the track as promotional material during matches at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Laced with an instantly recognisable whistling melody, the track from French producer Bob Sinclar still sounds irresistible to this day, and still serves as a huge part of many DJ’s live sets, thanks to the melodic beat which runs through the record’s core.

A true dance legend, Bob Sinclar is best known for his regular appearances at Pacha in Ibiza, and has delivered many of dance music’s biggest tracks over the years, including ‘New New New’, which was later given a truly wicked remix by Swedish legend Avicii. He even made a cameo appearance alongside tennis superstar Novak Djokovic in good friend Martin Solveig‘s video for 2010 production ‘Hello’, which was filmed at the French Open.

You can check the video below and re-live this classic with us below, as we take things all the way back to 2006, and the track which dominated an entire summer!
