As the bow brushes elegantly across the strings of the violin and the wind blows effortlessly through the flute, an orchestra can bring dance music to life like never before as Deadmau5 is the latest music producer to get aboard the acoustic action. The Canadian DJ has announced he is teaming up with TIDAL X and Gregory Reveret for a one-time-only and all-ages orchestral performance dubbed “Where’s the drop?”

On April 1st [Easter Sunday], Deadmau5 along with Gregory Reveret and his orchestra will perform the music producers 7, a collection of tracks released back in 2014 which are inspired by the seven deadly sins. While Deadmau5 is not the first producer to cross paths with the orchestral assemble, both Above & Beyond and Pete Tong has shown us just how special these performances can be. From Above & Beyond’s acoustic rendition of ‘Sun and Moon‘ to legendary Pete Tong wowing a packed Royal Albert Hall with his Ibiza Classics performed by the Heritage Orchestra, special moments are born.

On the Friday before the show, Deadmau5 will release a pre-recorded album including 17 renditions of his own tracks which will be released exclusively on TIDAL. For those of us who won’t be attending need not worry as well for TIDAL X will stream the performance for TIDAL customers. Check out the teaser below for the show.
