While deadmau5 is known for his extravagant visuals and stage design during his live shows, the Canadian DJ/Producer is just as well known for his magnifique productions. Being one of the most respected producers in the world, Joel Zimmerman is revered for his technical expertise in producing quality music. Now, the 37-year-old is sharing his knowledge with the world via Splice in his latest sample pack.

Titled, ‘Random Label Pack’, the sample pack features 250 drum, percussion, fx and synth samples from various artists on the label’s roster including TTLAS, No Mana, BlackGummy, Rinzen, Matt Lange and Monstergetdown. The pack even features foley sounds for those doing sound design for film and television.

The concept of selecting individual samples, as opposed to buying an entire sample pack for the sake of a select few sounds has struck a chord with the producer community, hence Splice’s great success. Since its launch in 2013, Splice has raised $35m in funding and has paid artists $5m in revenue. Speaking of the service at the time, Splice CEO and co-founder Steve Martocci said the following:

“Our vision is big: to transform the way musicians create and collaborate, to foster a culture of openness in music, and to uncover new revenue streams for artists through artist-to-artist marketplaces.”
