Swedish superstar Alesso recently made an emphatic return to New York City, much to the delight of his loyal NYC fans. The Swede played two shows on March 2 and 3 at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner nightclub, making them Alesso’s first shows in New York since Electric Zoo in 2015. In celebration of his long-awaited return, the 26-year-old’s media team put together a recap video, made up of fans’ Instagram stories.
Combined with fan-sourced recordings and professional camera footage, the video showcased epic footage of everything that went down on both nights. From vibrant lights and pyrotechnics, to dance-offs in the crowd, Alesso evidently put on excellent performances, rewarding his New York fans’ incredible patience.
When asked for his thoughts on his return to the Big Apple, Alesso explained the following:
“Brooklyn has such a rich history for music. New York is, obviously, a special place. My last time in the city was magical and my return has been long overdue.”
While Alesso returned to New York, he won’t be returning to Miami this year. The ‘Calling‘ co-writer recently announced he wouldn’t play at Ultra Miami this year, after responding to a fan’s tweet. Despite the disappointing revelation, he’s not the only big name fans won’t see on the lineup, with Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens and Above & Beyond all sitting out the festival’s 20-year anniversary.
