Home Uncategorized Tom Swoon’s detainment extended following DUI arrest

December last year saw the fall of Polish DJ/Producer Tom Swoon following a DUI arrest, resulting in the death of a young woman. Since the incident, Swoon (born Dorian Tomasiak) saw a release cancelled by Spinnin’ Records, had been dumped by all associated booking agencies and has since been detained in prison. Recently, the prosecutor’s office has called for the 24-year-old’s detainment to be extended, due to the investigation’s incompletion.

The investigation has not yet been completed and the prosecutor’s office has filed to extend the detention until the trial or possible plea deal takes place. In these circumstances, a cash bail system or equivalent framework is not an option in Poland, therefore detention proceeding a trial during the time of investigation is decided by the courts. Tom Swoon faces 12 years behind bars if convicted of his crimes at trial. Tom Swoon had the equivalent of the highest level of intoxication in US standards of drunk driving at the time accident.

Prior to the incident, Swoon had worked with major artists such as Blasterjaxx and Kill The Buzz, and boasted releases on some of the largest labels in the world, including Spinnin’ Records, Armada and Revealed Recordings. He also reached #47 in last year’s DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll.
