Claptone over the past few years have become renowned for releasing big tracks. And when I say big, I don’t necessarily mean mainstream popular. I mean statements of musical intent. Tracks primed for the night scene worldwide.

The golden scooped beak, with its ominous persona, has slowly emerged from the darkness, the unknown. And having just announced the release of his debut album ‘Charmer’, hopefully more light will be shed. ‘Charmer’ is set to fuse his signature house sound with a more eclectic aesthetic, featuring guest appearances from Nathan Nicholson (The Boxer Rebellion), Jimi Tenor, Young Galaxy, Jay-Jay Johanson and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah amongst others.

Today Claptone releases the albums introductory track “Puppet Theatre”. Featuring Peter, Bjorn and John, the collaboration offers an insight into the possible depth of ‘Charmer’. The possible layers and variety of sounds on offer. The album will drop following a packed summer touring schedule (see below) which reaches all corners of the globe. Following the success of Claptone’s remix for Gregory Porter – a tune which is dominating Ibiza this year and has been one of the biggest selling tracks on Beatport for the past couple of months. The album will also feature “Dear Life” and “The Music Got Me” as well the early singles “No Eyes” and “Ghost”. ‘Charmer’ will have a string of launch parties all over the planet in the coming months, kicking off with a special showcase at W Amsterdam on the eve of release during Amsterdam Dance Event.

‘Charmer’ is set for release on 16th October on Different Recordings. Pre-order the album now
