Jurgen Vries – The Theme (MaRLo Remix)

Australia based Trance torchbearer Marlo Hoogstraten, better known by his ‘MaRLo‘ moniker, was voted as the 3rd best DJ in Australia and the best in the Trance category in the recent inthemix top 50 Australian DJ poll.

And to hold up the recognition as the top artist in the Trance scene, he was also part of Armin van Buuren’s ASOT festival compilation which we have reported about over here. As one of the tracks in his section of the compilation, Marlo takes on Jurgen Vries’s 2002 classic ‘The Theme’. Jurgen Vries is an alias of English record producer and DJ Darren Tate.

Here is the original video of the all time Trance classic. What a melody it was, indeed!

Marlo transforms the classic with assistance with some competence. The melody from the original and the hard hitting powerful sounds of today’s scene amalgamate to present to us a festival headlining track. This one is going to make it to some main stage sets for a few serious throwbacks!
