Otto Knows – Next To Me (Remix Package)
Swedish progressive star Otto Jettman, better known by his stage moniker ‘Otto Knows‘ has had a steady top tier career guided well by the revered Refune Records head honcho, Sebastian Ingrosso. Building up on the stellar success of the 2012 track ‘Million Voices’, he saw recognition from the highlight artists of Dance Music for multiple tracks such as the fantastic ‘Starlight’ remix for Don Diablo in 2013 and the 2014 single ‘Parachute’ on Refune Records itself. And just two months back he released another single called ‘Next To Me’ which has seen close to 1.9 million views on YouTube. Ingrosso also announced Otto’s debut album in the making, which we have reported here.
But we couldn’t be satisfied with the same track for two months. And looking at that fact Big Beat Records has released a remix package showcasing artists like Gregori Klosman, Grum, Reso, Matisse & Sadko and Pingpong who in turn bring their own styles to the table, ranging from Deep Techno to House, from Drum & Bass to Progressive. Let’s check out their works:
Deep House stalwart and GURU record owner, Gregori Klosman does justice to the song in his own special way. Keeping the emotions of the vocals running throughout but also adding the deep sounds and claps, all of it to result in a groovy drop which will get you shuffling in no time!
Next up was Leeds based progressive sound producer Grum. He took on the track with his signature sound, a lot chime like sounds and a heavy bass line, the track was decorated with great aplomb. The progressive sounds accompanied by the vocals added a whole new dimension to the track.
Along comes a remix that just takes you on a different trip. Brighton based producer Reso takes on the track and gives it a tasty Drum & Bass twist. Its fast, its energetic and it the drop holds the essence of the song very well. Great work this one!
Up next on the task were progressive house representatives who transformed the track into another kind of a artistic work. ‘Brothers, musicians and DJs’ from Russia, Matisse & Sadko enlightened us with a beautifully reworked melody. You can’t tell if its their new single or not!
Reserving the best and innovative for the last, the track was taken on by Pingpong. Giving it a pop/indie taste, the remix is one of a kind. Adorned by beautifully crafted sounds and distinctive attempt to create a remix, the track comes out beautifully.
All in all, the remixes are from all corners of the electronic sphere. We really appreciate the artists involved and congratulate them for the wonderful work they have done.
