7UP’s strategic marketing has led it to investing millions within the electronic industry. Cherry-picking Martin Garrix and Tiesto has its figure-heads, the brand has seen itself swarm the Ultra Miami festival as well as feature in the pairs music video for their latest track. For their latest stint of publicity they’ve gone all out, sponsoring Tiesto latest project, Your Shot USA.

The 10-episode series will be available online, on VEVO, following 30 budding DJ’s as they battle it out to play alongside Tiesto. The 8-week competition has similar goals to that of the many singing-show formats over the past decade or so. From American Idol, to The X-Factor to The Voice, the desire to find the next big thing is was drives these shows to fruition. With the electronic industry now worth well over $6 Billion, it was only a matter of time before Your Shot USA came about.

Of the thousands of hopefuls who entered, the 30 successful applicant then travel to the Your Shot Academy in LA, where they will prepare and perform a showcase set in front of experts, professionals and Tiesto himself. Then only 6 will continue on, traveling to Las Vegas to work with Tiesto and learn from the legend himself. The winner will earn the opening slot of Tiesto’s set at the exclusive Hakkasan nightclub.

While Simon Cowell is planning is own format of a DJ talent show, 7UP’s gives every contestant a chance. Teaching all successful applicants, from all abilities, rather than cherry-picking the perceived best on first impression. Making even more interesting as to who will win.

A new episode of 7UP’s Your Shot USA will premiere every Monday.
