Deorro x MAKJ – Ante Up (Free Download)

Mackenzie Johnson’s career has taken off in the last couple years.

The DJ/producer hailing from California released a slew of a tracks in 2013, including 3 Beatport Top 10 hits; a collaboration with Hardwell (“Countdown”) on his Revealed label which went #1 on Beatport after 3 days, and two releases on the Bingo Players’ Hysteria Records (“Springen” & “Encore”). Alongside his extremely positive producing career he has secured DJ slots at Ultra Music Festival in Miami for the last 3 years and even a main stage appearance at the inaugural Tomorrowworld in Atlanta.

Things don’t seem to be slowing down for him either; this year he has managed to team up with the likes of Bassjackers, Thomas Newson, M35, Lil Jon and even got O.T. Genasis, to sing “Coco” live during his set at Ultra this year. But as far as collaborations go: you can’t get much better than Deorro. 11 months ago they released a track in the form of “READY!”, and they clearly enjoyed it. Less than a year later they have already released another similarly titled “Ante Up”. The result is a huge electro house banger, typical of the two, featuring a stomping bass line and crazy trumpets. Mid-track the beat drops from 130 to 100 and it breaks into a few bars of classic hip hop, obviously inspired from MAKJ’s hip hop origins.

This is a festival-ready track and if, like me, you love the blend between hip-hop and house, this one is for you. To top it off, they’ve made it available as a free download.
