Dillon Francis Remixes Madeon’s “Imperium”
Dillon Francis had already established himself as one of the most charismatic and versatile artists within the scene. Hopping between genres and collaborating with a host of names including Kygo, Calvin Harris and Martin Garrix, to name a few of his recent ones, the wave of momentum he is carrying both in following and material has yet to cease.
It’s difficult to categorize and quantify his latest work on a normal spectrum. The young American’s interpretation of Madeon’s legendary “Imperium” takes a high-octane and diversifying direction. While maintaining a similar opening sequence, the track quickly morphs into an electro, dupstep-esque 3 minutes of controlled, curated madness. With flickers of Skrillex’s “Bangarang”, the drop’s stop-start nature brings an onslaught of energy. Chimed out with organic xylophone sounds, the track crescendo fades away as it recharges for another round of Dillon Francis’ signature unexpectedness.
Amounting over 120,000 plays on Soundcloud in under 18 hours, the inventive and alternative remix clearly adds reason to Dillon Francis’ uncanny popularity.
