Matisse & Sadko strike again! The Russian duo’s Beatport-topping collaborations with Martin Garrix have lifted them to a new level of status amongst the scene’s artists and fans. And with that comes new pressure to continue making memorable music, something new and refreshing – to our jubilation, they’ve done just that!

The progressive house princes have become renowned for some incredible melodies and progressive sounds in 2015. However their latest tracks opts for a different direction, returning towards their House roots. Exploring territory they haven’t visited in a while. Adopting a deeper sound, with soulful female and males vocals, the track feels simpler in construction than Matisse & Sadko’s usual work. In turn highlighting the piano keys and orchestral effects that culminate in an enchanting atmosphere. While the introduction contains less layers, the voices alternating sequence continue to develop the tracks mood. While having a future house sound and strong kick-drum, the lighter crescendo brings a groovy feel as opposed to a party-esque one.

Receiving it’s premiere with Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 earlier, the Matisse & Sadko’s elevated status is certainly proven. With the pair commanding a dominant touring schedule for the summer, and some of their latest tracks catching the ears of big names such as Steve Angello, Tiesto and David Guetta, 2016 is looking like it may be a Russian takeover. With material featuring in multiple sets across Ultra Europe, and Tomorrowland just last weekend, the duo’s new, deeper, direction will undoubtedly prove a popular one if it continues.
