Veld Music Festival Offers 40% Refund After Evacuation Due To Extreme Weather

Home Uncategorized Veld Music Festival Offers 40% Refund After Evacuation Due To Extreme Weather

Toronto’s flagship festival, Veld Music Festival has come to an unexpected end last weekend. The site was evacuated due to a heavy storm that hit southern Ontario, causing heavy downpour, thunderstorms and other extreme weather conditions. Leaving the Canadian dance music fans high and dry, acts from Above & Beyond, DVBBS and Hardwell had to be cancelled.

INK Entertainment has released an official statement recently, stating that they will be issuing a 40% refund as compensation for the unexpected halt of the event this year. Though it will not make up for the fans that were disappointed and  hearts that were broken, it is heartwarming to see Veld taking the responsibility for this unfortunate event.

“VELD Music Festival Toronto will be issuing a 40% refund to all customers who purchased tickets directly from Ticketmaster.ca and authorized points of sale. We are extremely disappointed that we had to cancel a portion of the second day of the festival but VELD Music Festival stands by its decision to evacuate Downsview Park due to approaching high winds, lightning and hail storms in the area. The safety of our patrons is always our number one priority.”
