Vigel finally drops square-root. Not quite a news headline, but blissful news to any progressive house and trance listeners. Fan’s alike have waited patiently for a full glimpse of the uniquely named track, and now they finally get the chance to get their hands on it.

Vigel has been steadily rising through the ranks this year. After a quality collaboration with Bobina, followed by a collection of bootlegs, remixes and edits; a guest mix for Nik Cooper and finally his latest release “Promotheus“. There little wonder he’s caught A State of Trance fans attention. “SQRT” has already received support from Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell  and more, reflecting the artists caliber of work nowadays.

The tracks best highlight so far has to be the moment Armin dropped it at Tomorrowland a couple of weeks ago. The crowds response captured the track fusion of passionate, energetic genres perfectly. “SQRT” finds the sweet spot between progressive house and trance, and is another example of the emerging sub-genre, Trouse. However you classify it the mix deserves recognition.

Vigel clearly looks like he’s here to stay, whether on ASOT or elsewhere. The tracks pulsating start, transitioning FX and rising layers give way to a melodic crescendo that could happily be put on replay for days. With a vocal riff taking the track to it’s darker, deeper, meatier side, the high-tempo energy-blast engulfs your ears in a crafted construction of sound. Resulting in the replay button being touched over and over again.
