We Rave You – Trance Rewind #001

We decided to lay out some classic Trance tunes for our ‘We Rave You – Trance Rewind’. Each week we will bring back some of the gems of the genre, long forgotten artists and spine chilling melodies from the past, all for you. Hopefully, this will be an enjoyable section of our website and a learning experience for those who are just stepping into the genre. So with that in mind, here is our first edition. Less talk, more music :

Ayla – Ayla (Taucher Remix) [1996]

First up we have a German potpourri. German Trance DJ Ingo Kunzi, better known by his ‘Ayla’ alias has his self titled work remixed by fellow countryman and DJ Taucher. A classic touch from ‘Child of The Universe’ hitmaker on Ayla’s most famous track. The original is a great listen too!

Balearic Bill – Destination Sunshine [1999]

Melodic and onwards, here is one from the Belgian duo of Johan Gielen & Sven Maes combining forces with Alex Gold to form Balearic Bill and delivering the powerful and ecstatic track – ‘Destination Sunshine’. Tiesto did a remix for this one too, worth a listen!

Kamaya Painters – Far From Over [2000]

The recent reinstatement of Gouryella by Ferry Corsten reminded us again of the older Tiesto and the classic tracks he would dish out. Here is one of those under the ‘Kamaya Painters’ moniker along with Dutch Trance master Benno De Goeij. If there was one word to define the pair, it would be ‘legendary’.

Mesh – Purple Haze [2003]

Another one of those tracks which just put you in your place or fly you to another! Here is Jack Molenschot under his ‘Mesh’ alias producing one of the most iconic tracks of the 2000s. It was released on the In Trance We Trust sub label of Tiesto’s Black Hole Recordings. Great ambiance on this one!

Energy 52 – Cafe Del Mar ( DJ Kid Paul Mix )

Our last song for this week’s collection is this classic from 1993. Snappy beats and a melody that is absolutely addicting, this was Kid Paul working on his own track, which was originally made with fellow German Harald Blüchel under the ‘Energy 52’ alias. Probably one of the most played Trance tracks, here is the last – Goosebumps Guaranteed!
