Major Lazer’s “Powerful” gets remixed by Michael Calfan

Major Lazer‘s newest album has received a variety of unique remixes. But the Michael Calfan treatment of “Powerful”, is as expected from the French producer, beautiful.

With the the track living up to the French producer’s success, the remix of Major Lazer’s emerging mainstream hit definitely has a place in the hall of fame of Calfan’s catalogue. We can delight ourselves with a catchy and house-esque piano melody, that remind us why we fell in love with dance music in the first place. The vocals of Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley are still present, which is nicely overlaid to capture the songs essence when combining all of the remixes layers. Resulting in one of Calfan’s best remixes to date.

Definitely one of this year’s best tracks, just because of the fact it takes us back to a few years ago, when the house scene was actually pointed at the love of music, and not just marketing and money. The french touch is perfectly applied on this one, bravo Michael.
