After releasing his debut vocal single “Together” 2 months ago, Throttle has recruited the help of none other than Shanahan to remix his masterpiece. Shanahan’s official remix of Throttle’s work captures the progressive essence of the original, working with David Spekter’s elegant vocals and the accompanying melody to help transition the radio-friendly track to Shanahan’s club-worthy, grittier version.
With a gradual build-up, Shanahan finds a balance between the integrity of the original and securing his signature sound within it’s construction. With a driving, developing build towards the alternative drop, the track goes through a whirlwind of sounds, from short and sharp chords it swaps and overlaps consistently with a flurry of deep notes. This dynamic production reflecting not only the skills and craftsmanship, but also the varied atmosphere the song brings.
Carrying smooth synths and a mashup characteristic, the song reflects Shanahan’s ability to merge and move between electronic music’s sub-genres within his material. From the hypnotic trance single “Can We” to the dark progressive hit of “Janjira” Shanahan has himself poised as a rising, versatile producer and disk-jockey.
Exclusive to We Rave You, Shanahan’s remix follows an already-impressive string of mixes for the likes of Tritonal, Carl Nunes and Jenaux, as well as releases on Void Records, Flamingo Recordings and Zerothree.
Set for release on 7th September on Beatport.
