Andrew Bayer begins another musical journey with ‘Nobody Told Me’

Some new material is coming fresh out of the Anjunabeats kitchen.  After the release of his ‘Do Androids Dream’ EP earlier this year, Andrew Bayer is set to take us on another musical journey with the ‘Anamnesis Trilogy,’ beginning with the first release ‘Nobody Told Me.’  When asked about his new project, Andrew Bayer stated:

“The Anamnesis Trilogy is all about reviving, reinterpreting and reimagining what I feel are classic – and lost – messages and motifs in trance and progressive. In this EDM-era, big room music has become obsessed with high impact, instant gratification and, to be honest, absolutely uninspiring and boring arrangements. I was listening back over my favourite trance and progressive records, and remembering when dance music was about a sense of journey and progression. Records where there was more than just a breakdown and Bro-DM drops… records where you sometimes moved across what felt like three different – and equally mind-expanding – records just to get the REAL moment in the track. The three records in the Anamnesis Trilogy are all inspired by this sensibility and era, but 2015 Bayer style.”

‘Nobody Told Me’ is the first feature from the ‘Anamnesis Trilogy’ and it is great example of Andrews primary goals for the project.  The record was debuted on Group Therapy 150 by Anjunabeats head honchos Above & Beyond and was met with roaring support.  The track starts with a Trance-like introduction that welcomes you, and progresses with soft tones and gradual builds.  However, it soon picks up pace by layering some catchy synths on top of the opening tune.  Hitting its stride around halfway through, the track turns to Andrew’s Progressive House style and offers a catchy, melodic breakdown followed by some hard-hitting drums to wrap up the record.

If this is just the beginning of the story, we definitely cannot wait to hear what else Andrew Bayer has to offer.  ‘Nobody Told Me’ is out now on Beatport. Keep your eyes open for his next release in November.
