The DJ Awards started off in 1998, and now 17 years old it continues to pursue commending the hardest working and most talented DJ’s within the entire scene. The not-for-profit organisation aims to celebrate the electronic dance music industry as a whole, where popularity is not of a concern. Taking place in Ibiza, an DJ mecca, the awards ceremony acts as one of the longest-running of its kind. With this years winners including Hardwell, Claptone, Disclosure, Hannah Wants and Carl Cox, the industry’s depth and diversity is all to apparent.

Decided by a prestigious and selected panel consisting of managers, promoters, record companies, PR specialists, venue owners, media specialists, and DJ’s themselves, the DJ Awards is one of the hardest tasks imaginable. However, year after after they still manage to consistently recognized some of the greatest, and hardest-working individuals within the scene.
