I thought my wife deserved something money couldn’t buy — a song just for her,” says Axwell.

Axwell and Axtone are nearing their celebration of the label’s 10th birthday and to do so they are releasing the ‘Axtone Ten Box’, which includes vinyls, an Axtone art book, artwork straight from Breakfast Design’s Jens Gronberg (he also creates all of Axtone’s artworks) and the download code for the digital album. The box set and the digital album track-list can be checked here.

Now back to the label head honcho Axwell. After his last release in 2013, the label boss took some time off from solo production. But now he is back with an exciting new release in the form of ‘Waiting For So Long (Gloria)’. The track is unlike his usual productions but there is a bit of a personal tangent to this one and hence isn’t cut out for the market. As Axwell says:

“My solo work is more of a vent or an outlet for music that feels more personal to me,” Axwell told Rolling Stone of the track’s intimate tone. “I thought my wife deserved something money couldn’t buy — a song just for her.”

The track has a lot to celebrate with the kind of upbeat feelings that flows through it. The decade of the Axtone label, Axwell’s solo production come back and last but most personal is its connection with his wife. Swirling synth work and an vocal sample to latch on to, the entire sound isn’t much far from the early works from Axwell. Overall mellow and mesmerizing the track is set to be out with the Axtone Ten release on the 11th of the next month. So till then keep replaying!
