One of the most prominent and legendary nightclubs around the world has announced that it will be closing its doors in early 2016. Pacha NYC, which has tallied hundreds of shows during its ten-year tenure, may be shutting the place down but is planning to celebrate every memorable moment within the venue. For one entire decade, this club has been home to dance music lovers from all boroughs of New York but unfortunately, as a famous quote says, all good things must come to an end.

Pacha NYC president, Eddie Dean, provided his perspective regarding the closing of the nightclub. He stated, “The average nightclub lasts 18 months – we lasted 120. It’s been a wild ride that none of us will ever forget. Our final parties will celebrate the different artists, styles, and scenes that have made Pacha great.” Some additional statistics to consider include the 6 million fans that have danced around the club for over 12,000 hours and the 1,500 shows that have been held at the venue for over 500 weeks.

Despite the sad news for many Pacha NYC’s visitors, a month-long celebration will take place at the club before closing. This December, Pacha NYC is celebrating its ten-year anniversary that will feature massive parties with DJ’s such as Carnage, Dirty South, and Markus Schulz. In addition, a notable show will be held on December 12th in which founding resident DJ, Erick Morillo, will be performing.

To cap off the club’s final stretch, New York’s veteran DJ, Jonathan Peters, is hosting a New Year’s Eve party with a 72-hour marathon set. Following this celebration, January will be filled with a series of closing parties which will consist of dance music’s finest DJ’s from past to present. No further word has been given regarding which DJ’s are getting booked but expect big names to pop up to close Pacha NYC once and for all with a bang.
