The announcement of a Gorillaz return has been a highlight for many music fans in 2015, a reason to look optimistically to the future of music and their beloved artists activity. Slowly teasing fans regarding their 3rd studio album in the run up towards 2016, it’s the latest rumored details of their upcoming LP that’s sent fan into a flurry of excitement.

David Bowie and the Gorillaz have similar cult-like followings, so a combination of their talents is set to reap significant results. With Jamie Hewlett dropping teasing new images over the past 2 weeks, his latest post is the one igniting the rumors.

Sharing a cartoon depiction of Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust appearance, with the caption “Bad Bowie” , the bands ties to the musical star go further back than many think. While still officially unconfirmed, the collaboration one would image is destined for the animated characters latest album. And with Gorillaz’ front-man, Damon Albarn, closely linked with Bowie himself, having played together in 2003, it’s more than plausible that this may just come to fruition.

Stay tuned for more details in the near future!
