Wake Up The Sun – Ummet Ozcan
Ummet Ozcan is yet another prominent Dutch DJ/Producer with a distinctive edge. And it’s an edge we’ve all come to love over the year. Having had an impressive 2015, the electro/big-room producer has drawn inspiration from a more progressive angle for his latest track “Wake Up The Sun”.
Having had the drama of being attacked at TomorrowWorld earlier this year, Ummet Ozcan’s resilient Turkish roots have helped him carry on through, continuing to deliver high-quality tracks and scintillating sets. With a portfolio that includes topping the Beatport charts in the past, and having his hand in producing some of the major sound packages since the EDM boom, his influence on the scene is ever-present and ever-rewarding.
“Wake Up The Sun” fuses the energy and rhythm of electro house with the instrumental layering and melodic basis of progressive house. With a minimalist start, the vocals and dominant chords create a platform for the Wild Western influence throughout. With a greater emphasis on drums compared to David Guetta’s “Lovers Of The Sun”, Ozcan uses the pulsating beat to drive towards the electro progression. Filled with an extended melody and busy layers, the vocal samples over the top add another impulse to rave along.
Undoubtedly one our favourite Ummet Ozcan releases in recent years, “Wake Up The Sun” is hopefully foreshadowing what is to come from the man himself in 2016.
“Wake Up The Sun” is set to drop on 18th January, however, preview is available on Soundcloud.
