Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival have finally come to an end. And oh boy, it was a blast! However, the world’s dance music gathering in Miami has not come to an end yet.

What follows this week is the well-esteemed Winter Music Conference where DJs, record label representatives, producers, promoters, the radio and the media coincide for seminars and panel discussions. Standing in the limelight now is the results of the annual International Dance Music Awards, which has been held for the 31st consecutive year. Music enthusiasts all over the world generated over two million votes to recognize and honor exceptional and outstanding achievements in 57 categories. As the dance industry continues to evolve, the IDMAs have emerged as an essential platform for career launching opportunities.

Continuing to lead the scene, names like Calvin Harris, Skrillex and Kygo pulled in multiple awards, from Kygo being named the year’s best breakthrough DJ to Calvin Harris receiving two awards in the categories Best Producer and Best EDM/Pop DJ. What stands out is however the domination of one single DJ: Hardwell. He creamed off the profits and took home an impressive six awards. His wins included Best Compilation or Full Length DJ Mix for his Hardwell Presents Revealed Vol. 6 album, Best Podcast or Radio Mixshow DJ for his Hardwell On Air, Best Featured Vocalist Performance – Title, Vocalist/Artist for his track “Mad World alongside Jake Reese, Best Progressive House/Electro DJ,  Best Solo Artist and the accolade Best Global DJ. Hardwell’s dominance is a feat truly meant for the history books and 2016 looks like yet another promising year for the Revealed boss.
