At We Rave You Radio we take pride in the hour-long mixes that are put together by some of our favourite artist’s. While diverse in sound, experience and atmosphere, they have yet to cease demonstrating why we love the genre as a whole. And CLMD has continued that it what could be our best Episode to date.

Former duo CLMD, made up of Norwegians Carl Louis and Martin Danielle, were the name on everybody’s lips when their track “The Message” charted high in the Beatport Top 100 back in 2010. With global hits such as “The Stockholm Syndrome” and “Black Eyes & Blue“, the duo cemented their names and palce in Electronic Music folklore for its defining decade. With a portfolio that features releases on SIZE, Ultra and Armada Trice, CLMD’s constant output of quality was undeniable.

And while they parted ways in 2014, Martin has taken up the reign’s in impressive style as he’s pushed forth with the CLMD project on his own. And with an album on the way later this year, that’s something to be very excited about. And with that comes news that the mix features not one, but two “ID” tracks from the LP.

Opening with Steve Angello’s “The Ocean” acts a big statement of intent, setting up an atmosphere of musical appreciation and theme of quality from the outset. Adding considerable funk with Sebjak’s “Control”, the lead up the inclusion of Eric Prydz collaboration with Chvrches is very satisfying. Hemmed by “Floyd” and “Letters” the mix is a glorious balance of vocal purity, steady tempo control and melodic sanctuary.

With the halfway mark brought up by further Prydz, CLMD hits a node of pleasure. Including Adrian Lux before his track alongside Astrid S, the smooth transition to the first ID is tantalizing. Going on to feature a double dose of Kolsch, Michael Calfan and The Chemical Brothers, the development towards the final track is something of magnitude. Carried in by a rich atmosphere, the final track (and second ID), gives insight to what CLMD’s album does, and may hold for the future.

In turn, providing We Rave You Radio with a blissful 60 minutes mix that reflects the experience and finesse held by Martin Danielle. A near-perfect blend of sub-genre’s with elegant transitions, Episode 14 is far from unlucky.
