Axwell’s classic hit “Heart Is King” turns 5 years old today

There are not many men in the world of dance music who have a heart as big as Axwell. This man just screams heart and soul in everything he does and the emotion in his music shows this. Having seen countless hits among the years from his work with the Swedish House Mafia and his current work under Axwell^Ingrosso, the records he’s put out under his own name are considered by many to be his best and today marks five whole years since the release of one of the most emotionally spine-tingling records he’s ever created.

From the pulsating drums in the intro to the strings that make your hairs stand on end, “Heart is King” is a record that is absolute gold. You can tell how much of his soul Axwell left in this track from the music itself right through to the cover art and of course it’s title, this is a piece of art made with 110% love. Something that maybe dance music is missing these days.

Who of course could forget the incredible moments had when SHM would use this track in the closing sequence of some of their last ever sets which no doubt would have quite a few in the crowds crying their eyes out to the sheer brilliance that is this track.
