The world is in mourning after the tragic news about the death of pop icon Prince. Following an outpouring of sadness from people all around the world including DJ’s and producers David Guetta took the opportunity to honor the pop superstar in the form of a heartfelt tribute during his Tomorrowland Brasil mainstage set.

Visibly overwhelmed by the news of the superstar’s passing, Guetta began the tribute by playing the intro to Prince’s classic ‘Let’s go crazy’ which includes the famous Prince quote that has been shared countlessly on social media since his death “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.”

Reflecting on the somber news in a joyful setting of Tomorrowland Brazil, Guetta had the following sincere words for the crowd:

“….You’ve made me really really happy today. But today there was also, something that was for me really bad news. I think the two best artists ever were Michael Jackson and Prince. And tonight, Prince died and it makes me really really sad and I would love to play a record for him who is probably the biggest creator. One last record in honor of Prince.”

The French DJ proceeded to play Prince’s classic ‘Kiss’ to the excited fans who joined Guetta in celebrating the pop star’s life. Tomorrowland Brazil organizers joined in by coloring the stage Prince’s trademark purple and projected an image of the lost superstar.
