Sebastian Ingrosso – Dark River

Home Uncategorized Sebastian Ingrosso – Dark River

Sebastian Ingrosso is one-half of the festival-dominating Axwell /\ Ingrosso movement and one-third of the iconic Swedish House Mafia. So with that comes a certain expectation, based on over a decade of evidence that includes some of dance music’s biggest, most well known and timeless tracks.

Having teased through a number of platforms for the past 9 months or so, “Dark River” has been part of Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s sets for some time now. With its feature on Avicii’s ‘Le7els’ podcast a few months ago, rips of the track have amassed an impressive number of plays well over 100,000. And with Sebastian Ingrosso subtly announcing its release through his Twitter and Instagram accounts in the past few days, fans’ desires for the official clip have been ignited once again.

Similar to Axwell’s “Barricade” in terms of impact, the solo work of the Swedes has reflective their paced nature to the duo project. With “Flags” earlier this year turning many heads due to its dramatic change in sound for Ingrosso, “Dark River” promises to be a return to the distinctive edge he has created over the years.

Ominous in its initial intro, the tracks intent can be felt from the outset. Bursting into its beat-heavy drop, the deep, dark and distorted synths add a mood of dominance and focus. One of his most thorough-bred tracks in recent times, Ingrosso adds an Avicii-esque bridge comprised of plucky guitar, clicks and country flare. However, its return to the monstrous drop only ensures ears are on alert and desires are left satisfied. Overall leaving you in need for a couple more listens at least!
