“This Is What You Came For”, Calvin Harris’s latest single with Pop icon Rihanna, has officially gone U.S. platinum. Certified by Columbia Records in their most recent promotional newsletter, the single has done exponentially well in the State’s causing quite the buzz for EDM and its growth over the past year. Yet to be named under the RIAA’s (Recording Industry Association of America) certification list, the song peaked at number four on US Billboard Hot 100, and landed at the number two spot for US Hot Dance/Electronic Song.

Going platinum in the US correlates to 1 million units sold, with each unit equal to either 150 streams or 1 paid download. The song in total has reached close to the 750K mark in downloads, US bound.

Though memorable enough to remain a fan favorite for weeks, the song has been under critics radar for it’s over processed vocalization and repetitive nature- comparable to their previous collaboration, “We Found Love”. Overall, it’s catchiness is undeniable and surely deserves the recognition its obtained since its release this past April.
