In the massively over-saturated world of electronic music you’d be forgiven for not having an opportunity to discover the non-commercial and undiscovered. The unfortunate element of that scenario is that you will miss out on the hidden gems and consistent producers that are in the shadows of their more commercially represented peers. One of the most under-rated and yet undiscovered gems of Armada Music is undoubtedly the humble Dutchman Rodg.

You may not recognize the name yet, but that’s certainly about to change as the talented young producer is known for delivering releases of unwavering quality on a regular basis. Warm-up sets by trance master Armin Van Buuren have included a myriad of Rodg productions that add to the inexplicable magic of the warm-up atmosphere at A State of Trance and Armin Only events. The Rodg sound has become synonymous with a laid-back vibe as evidenced at the massive performances at A State Of Trance shows in Utrecht, Ibiza, and Mexico. An impressive string of features on various Armada compilations proved to be the stepping stone for Rodg’s versatile and impressive sound. He reached the coveted #1 position on the Beatport Chill-Out Charts with ‘Jaqueline’, carving the way for a bright future in the Armada family. Through game-changing collaborations and solid remixes for music legends like Armin Van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold, Rodg has received the support of many greats of electronic music.

We had the exclusive opportunity to preview Rodg’s spectacular new album ‘High on Life‘ and the results are just as impressive as expected. Laid-back and effortless, his productions define the sound of summer. From funky progressive sounds like the title track ‘High on Life‘ and ‘Islands‘ to soulful vocal renditions like ‘Alibi‘ featuring the sublime vocals of Louise Rademakers and ‘A Syllable‘ with the talented Dezi Belle, the album is an essential music listening experience for the summer. ‘Leave a light on‘ with fellow Armada colleague Ruben De Ronde is a stand-out track on the album proving that the two friends work incredibly well together. Rodg has long defined the chill-out vibe and ‘High on Life‘ will surely take the talented Dutchman to new heights. After hearing the album we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the bright future of Armada’s best kept secret.

The album is available on pre-order here with an official release on Armada Music on 30 September.
