Sean Tyas & Darren Porter – Relentless

Sean Tyas has been one of the leading names in the trance scene for a decade now. 2006 marks the jump start of the American-born, Swiss-based producer with the release of one of his biggest tracks to date – “Lift”, followed by winning a remix competition for Sander van Doorn’s “Punk’d”. Ten years later, the lead Degenerate announced his debut artist album “Degeneration”, which was released back in February. Showcasing a variety of skills in the form of drum & bass, trance, psy-trance, techno, to name a few, Sean Tyas has proven to be one of the most daring and innovative producers in today’s trance scene.

“I guess I’ve always been known for a certain style of music but making an artist album was always going to be a chance to breach boundaries. Degeneration was therefore my blank canvas. No rules or regulations, no genre or bpm limitations. This was me exploring how deep the rabbit hole really went.”

Darren Porter is one of Sean Tyas’s greatest discoveries. Winning “Tough as Titanium Track of the Week” in 2011 on the Degenarate’s own radio-show puts him on the spotlight. Several future releases evolve in a long-term friendship & music partnership, as Porter took over A&R duties on Sean Tyas’s label “Tytanium”. The two artists have also worked together in shaping up a series of sound packs, available at Freshly Squeezed Samples. 2013 marks the year of their first collaboration “Nova 7”, supported by names such as Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, and among others.

In 2016, both Tyas and Porter join forces again as they present their follow-up record titled “Relentless“. Premiered during this year’s Luminosity Beach Festival, the track showcases a more melodic & uplifting side of both producers. Tyas’s signature piano in the breakdown, followed by an extended buildup, takes the listener to an euphoric journey through the haunting melody of the tune. Maintaining the essence of the pure uplifting trance, we sure hope we will not have to wait as long until the next follow up. The result of this one is simply “Relentless”.

When we asked Sean Tyas about the track, this is what he said:

“So… me and Darren have finally gotten around to our 2nd original collab, and this one already smokes our first one in every way.  I think that was really the point of waiting though, until we had a concept that we knew would blow away “Nova 7”, and take s*** to a whole new level.  We chat on Skype every day anyway like old women so why not make it productive we thought?“

“Relentless” is out today via Aly & Fila’s own FSOE Recordings. You can grab or stream it from here.
