Swedish House Mafia reunion rumours quickly shot down by management
With an accumulated following of over 3M subscribers, YouTube curator, Proximity, has become a dignitary in the world of Electronic music. Releasing the scene’s most anticipated records on a daily basis, the account’s videos are not only pleasing to watch, but held at a higher standard among its competitors. Reported earlier Tuesday, Proximity shared a photo rumored towards a possible Swedish House Mafia renunion tour; Said to happen this upcoming year, the shared post has social outlets buzzing due to its followed caption, “Hello Swedish House Mafia. 2017.”
The photo has since been taken down, but Proximity continued the submission with a statement to clarify, “What I can say is that I have spoke to a few people in the music industry that Swedish House Mafia is indeed coming back in 2017 for a tour that is already confirmed,” before adding “Disclaimer: But what I heard about the tour was not said or confirmed by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello or their team.”
However, moving quickly to deny the reports, an official statement has been released from Axwell^Ingrosso’s camp saying to EDMTunes saying “At this point we’re not planning on reuniting and I have really no further comments on what the future for SHM looks like”. So unfortunately for fans of the Swede’s, it looks like they won’t be getting back together any time soon.
