The Chainsmokers are no strangers when it comes to ranking high on music charts. Beginning with their breakthrough hit “#Selfie”, the American duo continued its streak with crowd-favorites “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down”. With this immense amount of success in hand, The Chainsmokers have not slowed down as they recently hit a couple of more major accomplishments.

Their latest collaboration with Halsey called “Closer” set a personal record for the group as it sold 116,000 units and surpassed the amount of sales “#Selfie” had two years ago. The track also earned over 23 million streams and with this impressive number, it topped the Streaming Songs chart for the first time.

Along with this feat, the song also hit Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart as well as the Hot 100. As a result, The Chainsmokers became the first duo to top the Hot 100 chart since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis did it back in 2013. Lastly, “Closer” also made the fastest climb to the #1 spot of the Hot 100 since Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” by reaching the top in just its third week of release.
